Terms & Conditions For Weekly Lessons

Please read through the following terms and conditions

Welcome to the Studio Academy

The Studio Academy is a structured training programme offering progressive drum education from beginner to professional level. By enrolling, you are committing to a system designed to provide consistency, structure, and long-term musical development.

These terms exist to ensure fairness, clarity, and a high standard of delivery for all students.

What’s Included

Enrolment in the Studio Academy includes:

  • Weekly individual drum lessons
  • Access to the Academy syllabus and structured progression
  • Academy assessments
  • A professionally recorded performance video
  • Participation in the annual Academy showcase

1. Lessons & Scheduling

Your selected weekly lesson slot is requested during signup and will be confirmed by the Academy.

Once confirmed, your weekly lesson slot is reserved for you on an ongoing basis while your enrolment and payments remain active.

Lessons take place weekly, excluding UK public holidays and occasional scheduled Academy closure days, which will be communicated in advance.

Punctuality
Lessons begin and end at the scheduled time. Late arrivals will not be extended, as this affects subsequent students.

2. Tuition & Payment Terms

The Studio Academy operates on an annual membership model, paid in 12 equal monthly installments.

By signing up, you are authorising a recurring monthly card payment via our secure payment provider.

Monthly payments are taken automatically each month on a recurring basis.

Important:

  • Payments must remain up to date for lessons to continue
  • If a payment fails, lessons may be paused
  • Continued non-payment may result in loss of your weekly lesson slot

This is not a pay-as-you-go service. Monthly payments apply throughout the year, including scheduled breaks, which are factored into the programme.

3. Missed Lessons & Make-Up Policy

Student Absences

With 48+ hours’ notice:
We will do our best to offer a make-up lesson within 30 days, subject to availability. This is not guaranteed.

Less than 48 hours’ notice or no-show:
The lesson may be recorded and sent to the student upon request. Lessons missed without sufficient notice will not be refunded or rescheduled.

Teacher Absences

If a teacher is unavailable, lessons may be paused or rescheduled at the Academy’s discretion.

Public Holidays

Lessons falling on UK public holidays may be rescheduled.

4. Cancellation Policy

Enrolment may be cancelled with one full calendar month’s written notice by email.

Monthly payments continue during the notice period.

5. Student Responsibilities

Students are expected to:

  • Practice regularly
  • Arrive on time
  • Bring required materials
  • Treat the teacher, space, and equipment with respect

Progress depends on consistent practice. The Academy cannot be held responsible for lack of progress where practice is insufficient.

6. Teacher Responsibilities

Teachers will:

  • Deliver structured, high-quality lessons
  • Follow the Academy syllabus
  • Provide feedback and guidance
  • Maintain a positive learning environment

7. Studio Etiquette

  • No food or drink in lesson rooms (water permitted)
  • Parents may observe lessons by prior arrangement
  • Disruptive behaviour may result in termination

The Academy is only responsible for students during their scheduled lesson time.

8. Data Protection (GDPR)

We collect and store personal data solely for the administration of tuition and Academy activities, in accordance with UK GDPR. Data is never shared without consent.

9. Photo & Video Consent

Photos and videos may be taken for promotional use. Please notify us in writing if you do not consent.
